Into the Woods (SHS)
Performances: October 5, 6, 7 
         James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant piece...and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results!

Show Circle (SIS)

Show Circle is a talent and variety show featuring acts from 7th and 8th graders at the Intermediate School.  Show Circle got its name from its original performance space, the circular cafeteria at the middle school. The show contains many acts, including dance, vocal music, monologues, instrumental music, poetry, and hip bands. We have even had Irish Dancing, African Drumming, puppetry, and Broadway group dance numbers.  The money raised helps support SIS Drama productions! Casting will occur in mid-October. We look forward to seeing you at Show Circle 2017!

AFS Showcase (SHS)

AFS Showcase is the high school's variety and talent show.  The production is student acted, student directed, and student designed.  AFS Showcase serves as a joint fundraiser for both Shorewood Drama and the Shorewood AFS Exchange Student Program.  The show includes hilarious comedy, elegant classical dance, hip bands, beautiful instrumental music, soulful acoustic guitar, rousing pop dances, Broadway classics, and so much more!  

Flowers for Algernon (SHS)
Performances:  January 25, 26, 27
This is the compelling story of Charlie, an intellectually disabled man, and the strange interweaving of his life with that of Algernon, a mouse. Experimental surgery has been performed on Algernon increasing his intelligence fourfold. The operation is tried on Charlie, who rapidly changes from intellectually disabled to a genius, far more intelligent that his teacher, Alice Kinnian, or Charlie's doctors. Will his newfound intelligence last? Was it an ethical surgery to perform in the first place? This play is poignant, romantic, funny, and tragic, but with hope of man's indomitable spirit!

Hairspray (SHS)

The 1950’s are out and change is in the air! Hairspray, winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly show, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. It’s 1962 Baltimore and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular “Corny Collins Show.” When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. Tracy uses her newfound fame to help integrate the “Corny Collins Show." Hairspray is a rollicking dance musical, but at its heart is the proof that with love and determination, the world can be a better place for people of all races, colors, creeds, and sizes!
